Modern Woman

Being a Modern Woman

As a Modern Woman in the 21st century, we have come so far. We have the right to vote, we can work professionally for a living, and there are now more women attending college than ever before, and in some professional degrees, more women are graduating than men. But as we have seen with the recent presidential election, we still have a long way to go. Women still face many levels of sexism from lower pay, heightened criticism in the media, and body image objectification while still being expected to hold the traditional domestic roles in the house.

In this section, I will explore simple and effective ways that help us women live in today’s world while still maintaining our high standards as women in the home, mothers, and professionals.

We have many great leaders advocating for equal rights for women to help guide us in our daily endeavors. One of my favorites is the inspiring Emma Watson, who has stepped up to the challenge to fight for feminism in the global spotlight.

“It is time that we all see gender as a spectrum instead of two sets of opposing ideals. We should stop defining each other by what we are not and start defining ourselves by who we are” -Emma Watson

Until next time,
